Neerja collects Rs. 12.30 cr. in two days at the box office

Neerja starring Sonam Kapoor, which clashed with three other films – Loveshhuda, Ishq Forever, Direct Ishq – has opened to a positive reviews from both the critics and the audiences. The real-life story of late Neerja Bhanot and Sonam Kapoor’s performance as Neerja seems to have impressed the viewers and has emerged as the winner and has collected Rs. 4.70 cr. on day one at the box office. Day two collections of the film were even more as it earned a whopping Rs. 7.60 cr taking the total of two days to 12.30 cr. 

The film’s business witnessed growth towards evening/night shows and the numbers multiplied rapidly especially at the metros. Sonam Kapoor fumbles in a couple of initial phases, where we find a blankness rather than terror on her face. But those are only momentary. Then she locks onto the correct tone, and we get the whole complement of feelings flit across her face – from shaking with fear to finding a place of strength. Kapoor makes us believe she is, was, Neerja.
